Members of the General Council of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science (FSEŞ) met on Wednesday, 2nd of March, at a meeting to discuss the “interference” of the Trade Union of Employees of Education “Viitorul” in FSEŞ activity.

The outcome of the discussions on this subject, the members of the General Council of FSEŞ decided to reject the Partnership Agreement, proposed earlier by Michael Laşcu, President of the Trade Union “Viitorul” and the leadership of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), on the grounds of an agreement between national branch trade union centers, on mutual respect of their integrity and the right of freedom of association, approved by the Confederal the Committee of CNSM on the 26th of February, 2015.

Referring to the conflict in Ungheni, which took place between the two trade union centers while the Agreement of CNSM was already in force, trade unionists of FSEŞ asked the Confederal Committee of CNSM to qualify the actions of the Trade Union ” Viitorul” as undermining the integrity of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science.

The members of the General Council of FSEŞ ask the return of the primary trade union organizations from Ungheni affiliated to the union “Viitorul” with the breach p.3of agreement, also the fulfillment of the provisions of that document.

In case of refusal or delay in achieving the requirements of the FSEŞ, the General Council of the Federation assumes the right to organize awareness activities of the Confederal Committee of CNSM to carry out its own decisions and to raise international trade union bodies, which are part FSEŞ and CNSM.

Oleg Budza, President of CNSM, emphasized the importance of finding a compromise solution that would not affect the parties and contribute to strengthening of the trade union movement in Moldova.

This issue will be discussed at the upcoming session of the Confederal Committee of CNSM, after examining the situation by the Conduct and Discipline Commissions of the Confederation.
