At the Sanatorium “Nufarul Alb” from Cahul was inaugurated a saline

On Thursday, August 25, at the sanatorium “Nufarul Alb” Cahul, was held the official inauguration ceremony of the Saline. Such health resort patients will benefit in premiere of speleotherapy service – a modern method of treatment that consists of placing patients under the microclimate of salt mines.

The event was attended by the leaders from the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), local public administration in Cahul, deputy Elena Bacalu, and people being treated at the sanatorium.

Oleg Budza, president of CNSM said that the construction of the saline lasted for almost half a year and the Confederation has allocated 1.7 million lei in this regard.

“The health of employees is a priority for CNSM. Statistics on population health in our country are more than worrying in a number of indicators. Through this saline we aim to contribute to reducing respiratory diseases, which are among the most frequently encountered illnesses in Moldova “, emphasized trade union leader.

Vasili Scutelnic, director of “Nufarul Alb” said that the cumulative effect of microclimate factors of salt improves the clinical condition of patients. Patients will be able to treat illnesses such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, chronic pneumonia and other respiratory diseases.

The duration of the first procedure of speleotherapy is one hour, and the next lasts for up to 2-3 hours. Overall, doctors recommend to be performed between 18 and 23 sessions of speleotherapy.

For the construction of the saline it was brought about 100 tons of salt from the mine Tirgu Ocna of Bacau, Romania. It has also been brought salt from Himalaya, Pakistan. The saline has a capacity of about 50 people and has dedicated space both for adults and for children.

Sanatorium “Nufarul Alb” is a health resort equipped with modern medical equipment, where thousands of patients come annually for treatment and rehabilitation.

The main diseases that are successfully treated are the musculoskeletal, central and peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular, gynaecological, dermal and digestive tract.
