Another group of trainees from national-branch trade union centres and primary trade union organizations received certificates of graduation of the educational project “Training of trainers”, launched by the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) and the Labour Institute on 25th of October 2016.
The course included 4 sessions, 96 hours of learning. The overall objective of the project is to train and develop the necessary skills to carry out trade union training activities, which include in principle the organization of practical training courses for the trade union asset.
Thus, by the end of the project, participants have been able to develop their abilities as a trainer; have taught how to prepare, perform, assess and promote training activities in different areas of trade union activity; have mastered how to use a wide range of interactive instructional and audience engagement methods, as well as presentation and group communication skills.
According to Petru Chiriac, vice-president of CNSM, the training of trade union staff is a priority for the CNSM. “The trade union movement must be modernized and readjusted in order to improve the status of trade union organizations at all levels and this can only be done by well-trained people able to defend the interests of trade union members and come up with innovative educational approaches, for the benefit of the entire trade union movement.”
At the end of the training, the participants presented individual trade union training projects in which they tackled issues such as trade union management, the role of information technologies in trade union activity, the criteria for social partnership activity, the role of women in society, etc.
The works were evaluated by a qualification commission consisting of 6 members – representatives of national trade unions and the CNSM.
