The President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), Oleg Budza, advocates intensifying the cooperation relations between the trade union movement and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI). This is what the trade union leader said at the 4th Congress of the CCI, held on Thursday, August 10, in Chisinau.

“We want the business community to be socially responsible. Considering that CCI is an active promoter of business, and trade unions represent the employees, we consider it appropriate to conclude a Collaboration Agreement between CNSM and CCI to implement various joint projects based on the principles of social responsibility. In this respect, in September, we will have a meeting with the newly elected leadership of the CCI to discuss the details of the Agreement,” the CNSM president said.

According to Oleg Budza, such agreements are concluded in several European countries, aiming at observing the safety and health rules at work, improving working relations, observing the provisions of labour contracts, and better social protection.

“It is pleasant that at the Congress the leadership of the organization mentioned the importance of promoting dual education, because it is necessary to draw more attention to the training of young specialists if we want to have a competitive economy,” added the president of the CNSM.

The Ordinary Congress of the CCI, attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, representatives of the employers’ organizations and invited from abroad, is held every five years to elect the Council, the Census Commission, the president of the CCI. Sergiu Harea was re-elected as president.

The CCI carries out analyses, provides information and advises the public bodies on the drafting and adoption of normative acts related to the development of the economy of the Republic of Moldova, supports the implementation of the economic development projects. CCI brings together over 1100 members, business representatives from all branches of the national economy.
