Trade unionists from Turkey are familiar with social dialogue practices applied in the Republic of Moldova

Between January 31st and February 1st, 2018, the General Secretary of Turkey’s International Eurasian Federation of Metallurgists, Ismail Dursun, and his deputy, Turajon Raupov, are in the Republic of Moldova with a working visit. For two days, the trade unionists will discuss the perspectives of collaboration with trade union organizations from the Republic of Moldova in the field of training, social dialogue, labour law.

According to Mihail Lascu, president of SINDLEX Federation, during the year 2017, more than 70 trade union activists from several trade unions from the Republic of Moldova, national trade union centres branch members of Turkey’s International Eurasian Federation of Metallurgists, participated in various activities training in Turkey.

“Our Turkish colleagues came to see the results of these training visits and how the Moldovan trade unions applied various techniques and strategies in their work. We hope to continue working fruitfully because we have something to learn from them. In particular, I am referring to the negotiation of collective labour agreements and the settlement of individual and collective labour disputes,” the President of the SINDLEX Federation stressed.

In the same vein, Ismail Dursun, General Secretary of Turkey’s International Eurasian Federation of Metallurgists, welcomed the good relations between the parties. “We place great emphasis on training trade union members, and when you share ideas and knowledge you become stronger. There are other social-economic realities in Turkey, but we are open to sharing our experience with trade unionists in the Republic of Moldova,” Ismail Dursun stressed.

The International Eurasian Federation of Metallurgists, founded in 1994, with the active participation of Turkey’s “Türk Metal” union, gathers 78 trade unions from 20 countries.
