Meeting of Oleg BUDZA, CNSM President, with the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Mr Pascal LE DEUNFF

Today, April 4, Oleg Budza, President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, had a fruitful discussion with His Excellency Pascal Le Deunff, Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova.

The main target of the meeting was to inform the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova about the main objectives of the National Trade Unions Confederation of Moldova, to the provisions of the CNSM Strategy for the period 2017 – 2022. In this regard, Oleg Budza stated that in the next years the trade union’s actions will be aimed at improving the living and working conditions of trade union members, decent wages, strengthening the real social dialogue, ensuring that workers’ problems are solved by representing their members in all tripartite and bipartite partnership structures.

Another important objective of the trade unions of Moldova, in the vision of CNSM president, is to ensure the safety and health of workers at work. In this respect, Pascal Le Deunff was informed that the CNSM has an efficient, unique tool – the Labour Inspectorate of the Trade Unions – which ensures the monitoring of the compliance of the working conditions of the employees, trade union members. On this occasion, Oleg Budza said that the CNSM came up with the initiative to build a monument to commemorate the employees, victims of work accidents.

He also pointed out that the CNSM actively participates in the elaboration of the legal and normative framework, especially regarding the social and economic protection of the employees, is effectively involved in the process of conceiving the state budget, state social insurance and of compulsory health insurance funds.

At the same time, Oleg Budza insisted to assure the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova that the CNSM supports the European development vector of our country, because it is the most reasonable way for Moldova’s development perspective, reflects the major national interest of the population and represents a unique chance to achieve the rights, freedoms and prosperity of its citizens.

Responding to the request of the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, the president of the CNSM presented a picture of the functioning of the tripartite commission’s activity mechanism and the role of the trade unions in the successful development of the social dialogue in the process of drafting and adopting the legislation in our country.

At the end of the meeting, H.E. Mr. Pascal Le Deunff, Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, was pleased with the content of the detailed information, exhaustively presented by Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, who, in his opinion, will help them to make a bigger, profound impression of the real situation from our country.
