Today, May 28, the leadership of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) had a meeting with the Ambassador of Poland to the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Bartlomiej Zdaniuk. CNSM continues the series of meetings with the accredited ambassadors in Chisinau, earlier began this year, to inform embassy representatives about the work of the Confederation.
The main topics discussed at the meeting were the strategic objectives of the CNSM, the challenges of employees, trade union members, the labour market, including those related to wages, working conditions, conclusion and negotiation of labour agreements, social partnership, Global Deal.
During the discussions, Oleg Budza, CNSM president, presented the achievements of the CNSM and spoke about the activities of the Confederation. The trade union leader drew attention to the need to combine the social partners’ efforts to combat the phenomenon of the informal economy and wages in the envelope, to comply with the rules and requirements in the field of health and safety at work, and to ensure the decent work principle.
His Excellency Bartlomiej Zdaniuk, Ambassador of Poland to the Republic of Moldova, noted that Poland is a friend of our country and highly appreciated the efforts of the CNSM in promoting the rights and interests of trade union members. “We support the Republic of Moldova through concrete projects: investment, development, which led to the creation of hundreds of new jobs. We are open to stepping up cooperation with trade unions, because the Republic of Moldova occupies a very important place in Poland’s circle of interests”, Bartlomiej Zdaniuk stressed.
Those present also discussed the situation regarding the policies of supporting young specialists, the health care of the employees in the sanatoriums managed by the CNSM, the challenges related to the labour migration, the cooperation between the trade unions of the Republic of Moldova and Poland.
