Today, 25 May, the Youth Commission of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) launched the second edition of the Trade Union Campus entitled “Youth Protection through Collective Labour Agreement”. At the event, that takes place within the Resting and Recovery Houses “Perlele Nistrului” in Vadul lui Voda, there are 27 young people, representatives of the national-branch trade union centres.
In this edition, young people participate in several trainings, during which they will deal with the issues related to the negotiation, elaboration and conclusion of the collective labour agreements in the enterprises where they work, the social guarantees that need to be included in the provisions of the contracts, will be trained by more trainers in the legal field, social-economic policies and youth programs.
“We want young people to be more actively involved in collective bargaining, to come up with proposals to be included in the collective bargaining clauses, where social and economic benefits for young people and their families are indicated, stressed Elena Stoica, president of the CNSM Youth Commission.
Attending the event, Oleg Budza, CNSM president, had an open dialogue with the young unionists about how the CNSM is involved in protecting the rights and interests of young people and what is the role of the collective labour agreement in this context. The parties addressed various issues, including: salaries in the Republic of Moldova, housing for young families, and other issues related to the legal and social protection of young people on the labour market.
On the campus, the participants will study bargaining techniques, familiarize themselves with the methodology of meal vouchers, benefits for young people and opportunities for employees, participate in various interactive activities to strengthen the team. At the same time, young people will organize a photo and painting competition focused on negotiating the collective labour agreement.
We would like to mention that at the first edition of the Trade Union Campaign, held on September 28, 2017, entitled “Youth for an Innovative Social Trade Union”, the participants examined the youth work relationships and prospects for their future.
