Trade union trainers from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and the Russian Federation meet in Chisinau on 17-19 August to analyse the situation regarding the training of the trade union asset and to identify new approaches in this direction. The event is organized by “Labour School”, an organization working in the field of labour in the city. St. Petersburg, in collaboration with the Labour Institute of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM).
Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, said that the trade union movement pays great importance to the training of trade union members, being a priority of the Confederation. In this respect, the trade union leader reiterated, the Confederation has renewed the Labour Institute, for this institution with traditions in the training of trade union cadres to meet all the requirements in the field of education and to become a reference centre at the regional level. “This trade union trainers’ meeting will help us better understand the current needs in the field of trade union training, which trade union members want in terms of training and how to respond to these requirements,” the president of CNSM stressed.
Eduard Vohmin, director of Labour School, said that trade unions have faced numerous challenges in terms of changes in society, the impact of new technologies, the emergence of new formats in the field of labour relations, which require different approaches in the training of trade union members, in order to achieve the expected results.
According to the participants, this trade union trainers’ meeting is a good opportunity to exchange experience, learn how trade unions organize training activities in different countries and how they adapt to the transformations that society is going through.
For three days, the trainers discuss the continuous learning of trade union members, the motivation of belonging to trade unions, innovative methods of training participants in training activities, organizing trade unions, techniques of attracting new members to trade unions, how to increase the involvement of trade union members in the activities of trade union organizations.
At the same time, the meeting aims to contribute to the learning the peculiarities of teaching; to know the role and functions of trade union education, to address the CNSM policy in the field of trade union formation; to identify the specifics of trade union education; to strengthen the skills of trainers in communicating with learners or other people involved in training programs.
