A delegation of the CNSM participates in the meetings of the General Confederation of Trade Unions

On April 12-13, a delegation of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) headed by Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, attends the regular meeting of the Executive Committee and the Council of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU) in Moscow.

The delegation also includes Ion Pîrgaru, president of the Trade Union Federation of Communication Workers of the Republic of Moldova, and Margareta Strestian, president of the Trade Union Federation of Chemical Industry and Energy Resources Workers of the Republic of Moldova.

Among the most important issues discussed at the GCTU Executive Committee meeting are a series of projects and issues such as: ratification and observance of International Labour Organization conventions in countries where GCTU organizations are active, the GCTU  statement on World Day on Occupational Health and Safety and the GCTU Addressing the International Labour Day as well as the GCTU Joint Action Plan and the International Chernobyl Union for the period 2018-2022 on strengthening the social protection of citizens who have had suffered as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster and other radiation damage and catastrophes.

One of the most current themes of the Council of the General Confederation of Trade Unions meeting has been the social-economic situation of the independent states in which the GCTU organizations work and the trade union tasks in this context.
