On February 19-23, a group of trade unionists from the Trade Union Federation of Uzbekistan will be in a study visit in Moldova to share experience and get acquainted with the work of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM).

“We want to attract trade unionists from other countries, who will come for quality studies in Moldova, at the Labour Institute, where we have the intention to create a regional international trade union centre. In recent years, we have made investments in the Labour Institute and created all the necessary conditions for conducting training activities. The Institute was visited by trade unionists from different countries and showed their interest because we have what to offer and we are open to developing new cooperation relations,” emphasized Mihail Hincu, vice president of CNSM.

“In Uzbekistan, the TUFU has over 6 million trade union members, representing the interests of employees in 14 branches. We have been working with Moldovan trade unions for many years, and Moldovan specialists have been distinguished by professionalism and extensive knowledge of trade unionism. We hope that during this visit we will take over from their experience and implement certain practices in Uzbekistan,” said Nodira Karimova, head of the TUFU  Department of Labour Protection.

In his turn, Dorin Suruceanu, head of the Education and Research Department of the Labour Institute, said that during the years 2015-2017, the TUFU conducted an international project on the creation of a team of trade union trainers, where there were two trainers from Moldova. In this context, with the support of the International Labour Organization, the Uzbek trade unionists came to visit our country to increase their capabilities in the field of trade union formation, by studying topics on labour relations, modern approaches in the work of the trade union movement and making them more efficient.

During this week, colleagues from Uzbekistan will visit the CNSM where they will meet with the department’s representatives and with the organization’s leadership, will be informed about the achievements of the trade union movement, the structure, the directions of activity, the priorities and the social dialogue policies of the Confederation.
