The leader of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova had a meeting, on the 15th of February, with the European Union Ambassador to Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the study “Specialized courts in labour disputes in the Republic of Moldova – necessity and opportunity” carried out by a group of experts, with the representatives of the CNSM, ordered by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation.
The study addresses the complex issue of quality of labour disputes settlement in the Republic of Moldova.
According to the study, the quality of access to justice, lack of knowledge on labour rights among some groups of population, lack of confidence in justice significantly affect the protection of constitutional labour rights, which causes the courts in some cases to interpret inconsequential the provisions of labour law.
