The series of meetings of the leadership of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) continues with the ambassadors, representatives of foreign embassies accredited in the Republic of Moldova. Today, July 25, Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, Mihail Hîncu and Petru Chiriac, vice-presidents of CNSM, have been in dialogue with Roy Hans, the representative of the Dutch diplomatic mission in the Republic of Moldova.
During the talks, the parties addressed several issues regarding the socio-economic situation in the country, the activities organized by the trade union movement, as well as the prospects for the development of the bilateral relations in terms of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Oleg Budza, president of the CNSM, reiterated the support of the Moldovan trade union movement for the European vector and pointed out that Moldovan trade unions are a major component of the trade union movement in Europe.
The trade union leader reviewed the main activities of the CNSM, the history of the establishment of the Confederation and its structures, the activities related to the social dialogue process with the social partners, the efforts in the field of safety and health at work carried out through the Labour Inspectorate of the Trade Unions, informative campaigns for the trade union members “Collective Labour Agreement – the guarantee of your rights” and “Lawyer of the Trade Unions”, organization of training of trade union members at the Labour Institute, balneo-sanatorial treatment of employees within the CNSM-administered institutions, children’s rest, activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“A few years ago we had a nice collaboration with the Dutch trade union organization CNV Internationaal, which supported us in implementing five important projects. At the same time, with their support, we have acquired a mobile laboratory, which allows us to perform free measurements in enterprises to see how the rules on occupational health and safety are being met. We are concerned about wage levels, the fight against the informal economy, the massive departure of young people in the country, the demographic issues we are looking for solutions with the social partners. We are open to learning from the experience of other states, to base the collaboration between the diplomatic mission of the Netherlands to the Republic of Moldova and the CNSM, to take different practices and implement them,” Oleg Budza said.
For his part, Roy Hans, the representative of the Dutch diplomatic mission in the Republic of Moldova, said that the trade unions in the Netherlands are very important and have a vital role in the tripartite negotiations process.
“We have been in Moldova for two years and we are focusing on regional development in the context of the European Union’s neighbourhood policies, the Eastern Partnership, respect for human rights and the rule of law, principles of the rule of law. We are impressed by the broad spectrum of activities of the Confederation, and we are pleased with the determination that you promote policies aimed at protecting employees,” emphasized Roy Hans.
We would like to mention that this year CNSM had several meetings with ambassadors or representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau of Romania, France, Austria, Poland, the People’s Republic of China.
