CNSM leadership met with representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova

Today, April 19, the leadership of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) had a meeting with Geng Fei, Advisor of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova, with the aim of strengthening long-term cooperation relations.

The CNSM leadership informed the representative of the Embassy of China to the Republic of Moldova about the priority directions of the Confederation aimed at social dialogue, legal and social-economic protection of trade union members, compliance with the norms and requirements in the field of health and safety at work, balneal-sanatorium conditions and rest for children. At the same time, during the discussions, the CNSM leadership reiterated the support of the trade union movement for the European vector of the Republic of Moldova and outlined the CNSM priorities for the period 2017-2022.

Oleg Budza, president of the CNSM, did not hesitate to point out that China is “a locomotive of the world economy” and the fact that “Chinese trade unions are strong, and that we could take good practice from their experience.” In this context, the trade union leader expressed the importance of the continuous development of the collaboration relations on concrete directions and informing about the achievements of the CNSM in defence of the rights and interests of the employees trade union members.

In turn, Geng Fei, Advisor of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova, expressed the opening of the Embassy to strengthen cooperation with the CNSM on several areas related to the working people. He also stated that he had trade union experience, saying that “in China, trade unions have a prime role to play in defending rights and promoting workers’ interests, and public authorities place great emphasis on improving working conditions and supporting initiatives launched by trade unions.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify collaborative relationships through various informational, social-cultural activities, exchange of experience on concrete subjects.
