CNSM leadership met with Viorica Dumbrăveanu, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection

Oleg Budza, CNSM president, accompanied by the vice-presidents of the CNSM, Mihail Hîncu, Petru Chiriac and Sergiu Sainciuc, had today, on December 2, a working meeting with Viorica Dumbrăveanu, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection. The parties discussed the most important aspects of bilateral cooperation.

The trade unionists referred to the need to improve the legislation in the field of wages in the budgetary sector, to strengthen the capacities of all the factors interested in vocational training, to continue to improve the legal framework in the field of retirement and the financial stability of the State Social Insurance Budget (BASS), to increase certain categories of social allowances, consolidation of the social partnership at all levels, increase of salaries for all categories of personnel from the insured medicine, allocation of financial resources for the balnosanatorial treatment of the employees from the prevention fund.

A particular topic of the discussions concerned the situation in the field of occupational safety and health in the Republic of Moldova. In this regard, Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, reiterated the position of the Confederation on the importance of returning to an integrated system of labor inspection, strengthening the institutional capacities of the State Labor Inspectorate, in order to streamline state control in this area, minimizing the number accidents at work, ensuring the actions of prevention of the employees, the connection of the national legislation with the international standards and the Conventions of the International Labor Organization.

Viorica Dumbrăveanu, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, welcomed the relaunch of the activity of the National Commission for collective consultations and negotiations (CNCNC) and emphasized the need to intensify the collaboration between the social partners in the committees for collective consultations and negotiations at branch level. During the discussions, the Minister appeared open to collaboration with the trade union organizations.

We recall that after a break of one year, following repeated requests addressed to the Government by the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, the activity of CNCNC was resumed on November 25. At the same time, on November 15, the CNSM leadership, together with the representatives of the National Confederation of Employers of Moldova, met with Ion Chicu, Prime Minister, in which were discussed the priorities of collaboration between the social partners for the next period.
