During the period 16 – 23 of June, a group of children of employees, trade union members from the building automobile and agricultural machinery industry branch from the Republic of Moldova, participated in the International Children’s Festival organized in Ankara, Turkey. The action is part of a process of cultural exchange that has existed for many years between the trade unionists from the two countries through which the children of the Moldovan trade unionists visit Turkey, participate in cultural and artistic activities, and the children from the trade union colleagues from Turkey visit the Republic of Moldova.
At the Festival, the children were involved in multiple activities, taking the lead in sports and cultural competitions, being decorated with diplomas and gifts for active participation in these events. Moreover, Carolina Psederschi and Egor Pulschin took first place in the category “Sport Dancing”, being decorated with the Festival’s medal.
Boris Babici, president of the Trade Union of Workers from Building Automobile and Agricultural Machinery Industry, said that promoting cultural and spiritual heritage is a factor that brings countries closer, helps develop relations and facilitates the exchange of experience in the field of trade unionism. “The active participation of children at this Festival is part of our efforts to do everything possible to support the young generation, who has the opportunity to create a picture of the work of the trade union movement and to broaden its horizons,” said the leader union.
As part of the cultural and artistic program, the children of the Moldovan trade unionists visited the “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk” Mausoleum, from Ankara. At the same time, the children had a trip to Istanbul, where they admired the Bosphorus Strait and the bridge linking two continents – Europe and Asia – walked through the Old City of Istanbul, visited the Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and other tourist attractions.
