President of Youth Commission of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), Tatiana Marian, had on Thursday, 3rd of March, a meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Moldova. During the talks the parties have attempted to identify common priorities and expand cooperation relations.

“Youth of the CNSM occupies a strategic position in the trade union movement in the country, they constitute over 25 percent of employees. Trade unions are constantly preoccupied with the situation of this category of citizens, but to ensure better protection of their social and professional rights, we need to join efforts and to undertake joint actions, “said Tatiana Marian.

“We would be glad if these proposals in future discussions will take the form of a cooperation agreement between our institutions. We want young trade unionists to feel the support of the Ministry in joint actions,” added the chairman of the Youth Commission CNSM.

In turn, Ion Donea, head of Youth Department of the Ministry, praised the good cooperation with CNSM and its affiliated structures, estimating that opportunities for collaboration can be extended. “Supporting the trade unions is very important to us. We need structures to implement youth policy, so we try to maintain close cooperation with public organizations,” he said.

“We have to make an exchange of initiatives at the action plan, to find those common priorities, to see how we can help each other. We have a strategy for youth, which aims to create a consolidated sector, recognized by all, that we lobby for all interests young people have on segments of employment, entrepreneurship, social-economic protection, health and other areas,” said Donea.

The parties also discussed on the need to resume discussions on the draft of the Collective Convention on the social-economic protection of youth, stressing the importance of involving all the social partners in the negotiation process.
