The members of the Confederal Committee of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) met in the ordinary session on Wednesday, December 18. The trade unionists addressed several issues regarding the activity of the trade union movement in the Republic of Moldova.
According to the meeting agenda, were discussed the proposals of CNSM to the Activity Plan of the National Commission for Collective Consultations and Negotiations for the first semester, 2020; compliance of collective labor contracts and collective agreements at branch and national level; approval of the list of entities to be visited by the representatives of the Labor Inspectorate of Trade Unions during the year 2020.
At the same time, the members of the CNSM Confederal Committee examined the issues regarding the Activity Plan of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova for the first semester of the year 2020, the approval of the nominal composition of the CNSM Women’s Commission and the appointment of the CNSM Women’s Commission president, the activity of the CNSM representatives in the territory during the year 2019, as well as other issues related to the activity of the trade union movement.
CNSM’s proposals for the Activity Plan of the National Commission for Collective Consultations and Negotiations (CNCNC) were formulated based on the objectives and priorities established on the CNSM Strategy for the years 2017-2020. At the same time, several proposals for discussion were submitted stemming from the problems faced by employees at the current stage and the proposals coming from the national-branch trade union centers.
These proposals refer to the draft collective agreement (national level) on the compensation increases for working in unfavorable conditions, the mechanism for approving the mode and the conditions for granting qualification classes for drivers, initiating the ratification process of ILO Convention no. 102/1952 regarding the minimum social security norms, the activity of the sectoral committees for vocational training, the establishment of the minimum wage in the country in accordance with the provisions of Law 1432/2000 on the way of establishing and reviewing the minimum wage, etc.
It was also communicated that in order to ensure a higher level of social-economic protection of the trade union members, the Confederation, the national-branch trade union centers, together with the social partners, negotiated and concluded collective agreements, at national and branch level. In addition, a series of collective labor contracts were concluded, at the level of economic unit, for their modification and completion. Today, at national level, 17 collective agreements are concluded, 9 basic and 8 amending and supplementing them. Those present accentuated the need to develop a mechanism for monitoring how these conventions are implemented at national level in order to streamline the given process.
Also today, the leadership of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova welcomed the first carolers. The children from the “Brânduşa” Temporary Placement Center for Children in Hincesti, under the tutelage of CNSM for several years, presented a program of carols, songs, winter poems and they received gifts.
The Confederal Committee is the governing body of the CNSM during the period between the meetings of the General Council. Defines the positions of the Confederation on national and international trade union issues; meets the resolutions and decisions of the Congress, of the General Council, elaborating concrete action plans.
