On November 8-10, trade unionists from Building and Wood Worker’s International (BWI), gathered in Chisinau to discuss prospects of development in the information field.
For three days, trade union members from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus and Moldova, examine public information practices implemented by trade union members of BWI.
Participants share experiences and evaluate the results obtained in the information field, which refers to organizing campaigns, using mass media and promoting traditional trade union activities through online tools.
“Moldova has a rich experience in the field of information and we are sure that we can take many tools and strategies that can be applied successfully in other countries of the former Soviet space. Federation “SINDICONS” is very active in this direction and can serve a good example,” said Michael Kartashov, regional coordinator of BWI.
Victor TALMACI, president of the Trade Union Federation of Constructions “SINDICONS” said that the collaboration with BWI dates back to the 90s and materialized through numerous projects implemented in time.
“We hope that the meeting will contribute to the transition to a new stage of development of cooperation in the information field. It is important not only to create communications tools and processes, but to work on the quality of information that we transmit to society, trade union members, the national and international partners,” pointed the president of the Federation “SINDICONS”.
During a working meeting with Oleg Budza, president of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), were discussed the main directions and priorities of work of the trade union movement in Moldova.
CNSM leader stressed that among the major objectives of the Confederation are providing appropriate working conditions according to the requirements concerning safety and health at work, supporting and promoting the interests of young employees and actively informing society about the role and activity of trade unions.
Anna Andreeva, specialist in policies and campaigns within BWI, stressed that today a special role in communicating with the public lies with social networks and other nonconventional methods of communication that trade unions should use more intensively to reach diverse audiences present in the online environment.
Those present, have studied techniques for effective use of social networks, awareness campaigns, and established that will expand collaboration by creating a regional communication platform.
In this context, the participants at the regional meeting of BWI got familiar with information activity of the trade union movement from Moldova during a visit to the headquarters of CNSM.
Building and Wood Worker’s International (BWI) is a global trade union of trade unionists in the field. It comprises more than 350 organizations from 135 countries and represents the interests of over 12 million members. Federation “SINDICONS” is a member of BWI.
