National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova promotes healthy lifestyle

During 23-25 September at resting house “Camping” from Vadul lui Voda, was held the fourth edition of Sports Contest of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), attended by over 600 members union in the country.

The 17 competing teams have met employees from different branches of the national economy, the winning of the national-branch trade union centers in their sports contests.

Oleg Budza, president of CNSM, said at the official opening of the Sports Contest that organizing sport competitions has become a nice tradition that unites generations of trade unionists and helps promote team spirit. “Sports not only keep us in a good physical condition, but is one element that unites us, strengthens us and better organize us in labour collectives,” said the trade union leader.

Michael Hâncu, vice-president of CNSM, the main coordinator of the Sports Contest and chairman of the organizing Committee, thanked trade union leaders for the attention paid to developing physical culture and sports in branches and economic units.

“Competitions of the Sports Contest of CNSM are an assessment of sports activities held throughout the year, hose aim itself is not just getting awards and medals, but also to stimulate us to carry a healthy life. This example deserves to be passed on to our children to have healthy and strong families,” he said.

The vice-president of CNSM also submitted to the participants a message from President of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Juravski. At the same time, he handed to the President of CNSM Oleg Budza the medal of the Olympic Committee for outstanding achievements in organization of physical culture and sports in trade union structures.

Dragos Hîncu, senior state advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, came with a greeting on behalf of the Government. “The traditional conduct of these competitions shows particular interest of CNSM to sport”, he noted.

Sports competitions were held in the following: volleyball (women / men), mini-football, table tennis, checkers, chess, baton, darts.

Following the evaluation of the athletes by a college of arbitrators, headed by Vyacheslav Prozorov, the winner of the fourth edition of Sports Contest of CNSM has become the team of the Trade Union Federation “SĂNĂTATEA”.

The second place took the team of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science of Moldova and third place – team of the Trade Union Federation of Workers from Sphere of Social Service and Manufacture of Goods “SINDINDCOMSERVICE”.

The finalists of the IV Sports Contest of CNSM were awarded with diplomas and cups by the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova and the National Olympic Committee and Sports of the Republic of Moldova. Also, the winners got free subscriptions for 2017 for the newspaper “Vocea poporului “.

Also in memory of the late Nicolae Suruceanu, Confederal Secretary of CNSM, there were awarded three special diplomas: the most experienced athlete, the youngest athlete and most original sports team in competitions.
