Today, May 22, Petru Chiriac, vice-president of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), had a working meeting with the Delegation of the Public Employment Service of Armenia, which is in the Republic of Moldova on May 21-25, an information visit at the invitation of the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM).
The delegation led by Artak Mangasaryan, Director of the Employment Service of Armenia, together with 12 members of the delegation, get familiar with our country’s practice in some areas that are linked to support for the launch of a business; labour migration policy and diaspora; the link between labour migration and development; social dialogue in the Republic of Moldova, labour market policy and the role of ANOFM and the social partners, sharing good practices in the field of employment.
Petru Chiriac, vice-president of the CNSM, made a comprehensive presentation of the Moldovan trade union movement, its role, programs and directions of activity, the results recorded over the years, the negotiations with the social partners, the priorities of the trade unionists for the next period, social-economic problems affecting employees, trade union members.
“Together with the social partners, we have a lot of work to do to ensure decent work with adequate wages, fighting the informal economy and wage-setting practices in the envelope, getting closer to the EU standards we are targeting. We have been working with ANOFM since 2011 and we have signed a Collaboration Agreement to create decent paid jobs to motivate people to remain in the country and to implement effective labour market policies. We hope to intensify relations with Armenian labour specialists,” said Petru Chiriac.
Artak Mangasaryan, Director of the Employment Service of Armenia, said that this visit aims to fortify bilateral relations and to discuss possibilities for cooperation between the parties on the mutual exchange of information and experience in order to identify solutions that would facilitate solving employment problems in both countries.
The program of the Armenia Employment Service delegation visit includes meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, the National Confederation of Employers, the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Development Organization, the MiDL Project launched by the United Nations Development Program in Moldova (UNDP).
