The General Council of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science (FSEŞ) convened today, January 12, in a meeting where they decided on the deployment, on 17-20 January, of the protests, the main claims being 50% increase in function salary of teachers and equalize wage for category I of Unique Tariff Network to subsistence size, as from the 1st of January 2017.

Other claims of trade unionists relate to the increase of the unique allowance paid to young specialists from branch to job placement, reducing teaching workload for young professionals to 75% in the first three years, annual and unconditional recalculation of the amount of pensions for retirees engaged in work and increase of the amount of scholarships by 20 percent from the 1st of January 2017.

Although during yesterday’s Executive meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that solutions were found in a large part of the submitted claims, trade union members were not persuaded, stating that they did not fully satisfy their requirements.

We remind that during the meeting on Tuesday, January 10, members of the Confederal Committee of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) declared their solidarity with the protests of trade unionists in education.
