The National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) began today, April 24, in Orhei city, a series of information seminars entitled “Negotiation and conclusion of agreements – the trade union’s priority”, implemented within the framework of the “Collective labour agreement – the guarantee of your rights” campaign, attended by trade union leaders from the district, representatives of the national-branch trade union centres. Such seminars will be organized this year in the cities: Soroca, Cimislia, Edinet, Comrat and Calarasi.
In the opening of the activity, Sergiu Sainciuc, vice-president of CNSM, communicated to the participants about the actions and achievements of the CNSM in 2017 and the objectives for the year 2018, in the context of declaring the Year of Collective Labour Agreement. The seminar was attended by Sergiu Morari, counsellor of CNSM president, and Sergiu Iurcu, head of the Social and Economic Protection Department within the CNSM, who communicated about what is the collective labour agreement, the purpose of the collective labour agreement, the importance of the collective labour agreement, issues that concern the negotiation and conclusion of the collective labour agreement.
“According to the information from the year 2017, 4570 collective labour agreements were concluded in the Republic of Moldova. About 97% of the total number of trade union members benefit from the provisions of the collective labour agreements. It is an impressive number but, if it is about the total number of employees, that percentage is over 40%. In other words, we still have a lot to do in this direction. At the same time, following the changes that have been made lately in the legislation, we place a special emphasis on the collective labour agreement, which is the main document at the level of unity in which we can negotiate and lay down important norms and beneficial guarantees for the employees,” said Sergiu Sainciuc , vice-president of CNSM.
Sergiu Sainciuc also said that during these seminars the trade union leaders from the territory will be trained how to negotiate the conclusion of the collective labour agreements, and they in turn will train other people in this respect, and the results obtained within the campaign “Collective Labour Agreement – the guarantee of your rights” will be analysed in March 2019.
We mention that the CNSM declared the year 2018, the Year of Collective Labour Agreements in December 2017. Subsequently, on March 20, 2018, CNSM launched the national campaign “Collective Labour Agreement – the guarantee of your rights” in Chisinau. The action plan of the campaign is focused on three objectives: increasing the role of collective labour agreements in ensuring the rights and guarantees of employees, trade union members; strengthening the capacity to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the collective labour agreement; developing the image and increasing the role of the national-branch trade union centres in negotiating collective labour agreements. Within the campaign will be organized a series of information activities in the territory.
