The president of National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova, Oleg Budza, participates at the IXth European Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization.

For the period from April, 8 till April, 11,  the president of National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (NCTUM) participates at the IXth European Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO), at which at the European level are evaluated different aspects of labour. The Meeting is organized by the ILO in collaboration with the Norwegian Government.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova also consists of the vice-prime-minister, Mihai Moldovanu, and the president of National Confederation of Patronage, Leonid Cerescu.

This year, the Meeting of ILO is focused on the evaluation of the consequences of the global financial economic crisis and its impact on the states of Europe and Central Asia.

At the Meeting, where participate the representatives of the 51 countries of the region, are discussed socio-economic problems, which are facing the employees, such as the level of social protection, social dialogue and the respect for the right to work.

Nina Zghibarţa, the Head of the Department of International Relations of the NCTUM, informed that at the Meeting, Oleg Budza, the president of  NCTUM, will participate at a series of discussions, plenary meetings and interactive sessions with participation of the chiefs of the states and governments, labour ministers and the representatives of the international financial economic institutions.

“The Meeting will put the basis for the balanced approach of growth and durable development focused on the decent work for all “, specified Zghibarţa.

During the debates, the special attention will be paid to the hearing of the report of Director General of the ILO, Guy Ryder, which covers wide analysis of challenges, which Europe faces in the context of the global economic crisis.

International Labour Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations, the activity of which is focused on the labour problems oriented to the international standards. ILO was founded in 1919, and its head office is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
