The first Trade Union Campus entitled “Youth for an Innovative Social Trade Union” took place today, September 28, 2017 at the “Perlele Nistrului” camp in Vadul lui Voda.
Approximately 30 young people, keen on knowledge and self-refinement, joined ideas and actions by participating in several training sessions for two days. According to them, these trainings are a rigid basis for new generations of trade unionists.
The best trainers were “recruited” to deal with the curiosities of the young trade unionists. Ştefan Popov, a researcher, trainer and psychological counsellor specified that he found the young people from trade unions prepared and ready to deal with difficult situations. “I knew somewhere in the subconscious that I will be in front of a trained group and I was convinced of this on the spot. The Youth Commission of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) is a strong structure, and we only strengthen this conviction,” specified the trainer who handed the training for personal development and networking.
In the same context, CNSM President Oleg Budza also had an open dialogue with young people. The parties tackled various issues including wages in the Republic of Moldova, housing for young families, and other aspects related to the social protection of young people on the labour market. “Young people for us are the basic link in the great trade union chain. Their problems are our problems, but in particular we keep them in sight and by any means we will promote the ideas and wishes of the new generation of trade unionists”, stated the CNSM president.
Alongside the young people during the two days of training was also Tatiana Marian, president of the CNSM Youth Commission, the organizer of the event. She pointed out the objectives of the trade union campus, urging young people to be open and to participate actively in all trade union actions. At the same time, the president of the Youth Commission shared Swedish youth experience and social guarantees for this category of employees. “Young people in Sweden know how to sell their work. They appreciate themselves, and so they are respected by the employers,” said Tatiana Marian urging young people to get maximum involvement in the social life of the country.
In the same vein, the young trade unionists also participated in a discussion panel on the current situation regarding youth employment and future prospects. At the same time, they also held a photo contest called “I’m an active young trade unionist” and they watched a thematic video that involved them in discussions and debates.
The trade union campus “Youth for an Innovative Social Trade Union” was organized by the Youth Commission of the CNSM, comprising young representatives of all branches of the national economy.
