Members of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science of the Republic of Moldova (FSEŞ) will picket the Government and the Parliament during 17-20 January 2017. A decision in this regard was approved on the 27th of December 2016 by the Executive Office of FSEŞ.

According to trade unionists, social and economic situation of trade union members in the branch of education is a continuous decline being caused by insufficient remuneration, which has not been changed since 2014 and the rapid increase in prices of goods, medicines and services.

In this regard, trade unionists claim salary increase of teachers by 50% from the 1st of January 2017.

Moreover, they require the increase of the unique allowances for young specialists from branch to job placement – up to 50 thousand (secondary education) and, respectively, 70 thousand (higher education).

Also, trade unionists urge the authorities annual unconditional recalculation of the amount of pensions for retirees engaged in work and increase the amount of scholarships by 20% from the 1st of January 2017.

Trade Union Federation of Education and Science of the Republic of Moldova has about 120 thousand trade union members and is member of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova.
