During 21-25 May, the International Labour Organization (ILO) organizes in Torino, Italy, at the International Training Centre of the ILO, the international conference “Future of work”, with the participation of representatives of trade union organizations from Europe and Central Asia. The conference discusses challenges related to developments in the field of work and the impact of new technologies and social change on labour relations. The National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) is represented at this course by Sergiu Sainciuc, vice-president of CNSM.
According to the organizers, today there are cardinal changes in the work of work. ILO has put forward the “Future of Work” initiative to deepen the understanding of the essence of the new challenges and react appropriately to them. At the same time, these and other ILO initiatives have been adopted by the three parties – Government, Trade Unions, Employers – in the context of marking the 100th anniversary of the creation of the ILO, which will be celebrated in 2019.
Sergiu Sainciuc, vice-president of CNSM, said that this initiative requires a multilateral analysis of how the future will be in the field of work and enjoys significant support from the ILO. Also, trade unions are expected to react effectively and constructively to changes in the field of work, to have the opportunity to influence the formation of the future and to promote decent work values.
For five days, the participants examine various factors that will influence the future of work, the role of social dialogue in the field of work, communication strategies and models of transformation of trade union activities, the impact of globalization, social partners’ policies related to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Objectives.
