VII th Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine

The leader of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) attended the VII ^th Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FPU), which was held on the 24^th of March, in Kiev.

Delegates, representatives of 43 national and regional trade union centres, discussed the actions and achievements of trade unions in the past five years, trying to identify the main priorities for the upcoming years and develop a strategy for modernization and development of FPU and its member organizations, and the trade union movement as a whole.

Also, in the context of Ukraine’s European choice, the participants discussed the need for sustainable economic development of society and improving living standards. “All this requires consolidated actions of all participants of social and labour relations, improving the efficiency of social dialogue between trade unions, employers and government at all levels,” highlighted the trade union organization.

The Congress was attended by representatives of central and local government from Ukraine, employers, representatives of international trade unions, the International Labour Organisation and other foreign missions.
