Structures from 86 countries joined International Trade Union Confederation and each country had the right to submit a candidate. For Moldova voted 95.6%, which is considerable support,” said Liuba Rotaru.
During the conference was developed the work program of the newly elected Women’s Committee. It has also been developed and approved the annual work plan for 2017. The work program for the next two years included actions resulting from requirements of the ITUC Congress from Berlin in 2014, which laid out the following tasks: the number of trade union members to increase considerably; trade union women to be involved in decision making process in the amount of at least 30%; consolidation of forces to improve the living standards of the population; providing sustainable jobs and secure incomes; providing a tangible social protection, elimination of slavery and forced labour; trade union involvement in solving the problems of immigrants and their involvement in trade union, etc.
However, there are to be adopted laws and decisions on the implementation of the aspects related to equality between women and men, as well as monitoring the implementation of PERC policies.
“Women were very active in this conference. Newly elected Committee has a set of quite serious tasks, but certainly will be accomplished”, concluded Liuba Rotaru.
