Young civil servants urge the authorities to increase their salaries

Members of the Youth Council of the Trade Union Federation of Public Services Employees “SINDASP” organized on Wednesday, December 7, a flash mob in front of the Government’s building, where they asked for increase in salaries of civil servants.

The action aimed to submit the message of young people to the Moldovan Government asking to undertake concrete measures for civil servants, namely the doubling of wages.

According to trade unionists, the expected increase of wages in branch with about 10-20% will not solve the problems of civil servants, especially young professionals, face.

“We do not want to leave the country, we want to have a salary to ensure a decent living at home. Keeping young professionals in government institutions is possible only if they receive an adequate pay to the current socio-economic situation,” said Victor Secrieru, president of the Youth Council of the Federation SINDASP.

The group of young people who organized this awareness action for the authorities mentioned that at present, they are living on the edge of existence, and monthly maintenance needs are much higher than the wages they receive.

If the requests of young people remain unanswered, they will use all legal means to defend the interests of civil servants, including a Japan strike.
