On the occasion of celebrating the World Day for Decent Work, a group of young unionists, members of the Youth Commission of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), organized several information actions within the institutions where they work. The purpose of these actions was to promote the concept of decent work and its components.
In this respect, young people communicated about the importance of the World Day for Decent Work and the activities organized by the CNSM, oriented towards social and economic protection, protection of rights and interests of young employees.
“On the World Day for Decent Work, we, the young trade unionists, claim the fair and equitable remuneration of work for youth, job quality and security, safe social protection for young people, opportunities for professional development, their active participation in decision-making, rights and freedoms of employees. It is important for young employees to be aware of what decent work means and to protect their rights for decent work,” said Tatiana Marian, president of the CNSM Youth Commission.
Constanta Bordian, a trade union activist from the Pedagogical State University “Ion Creangă” in Chisinau, said that young people in the institution were informed about the benefits of decent work, but also about the risks the employees face when they do not know their rights.
At the same time, Elena Stoica, trade union activist, telecommunication engineer at SE. The National Center for Radio Frequency, said young people working within the company learned through awareness activities more information about the significance of the World Day for Decent Work.
