The Administration of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) discussed with the designated Prime Minister Iurie Leancă the existent problems of employees.

The current situation from the labor sector, the existent problems in the field of medical care, education and transport, included among the priorities of the future Governing Program, had been discussed on Friday, May 24, 2013, in a meeting of the administration of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) with the designated Prime Minister Iurie Leancă.

The Prime Minister outlined the good cooperation between the Government and Trade Unions, specifying that both institutions have a common aim – to provide favorable social and economic environment for citizens.

Mr. Iurie Leancă also stated that the Government is aware of the existent problems from the labor sector, specifying that currently, the most serious plague is corruption, a phenomenon which hampers the efficient operation of institutions, having an impact on employees also.

“One of our objectives is to provide an efficient governing, for citizens’ welfare but, in order to inspire the sense of honesty and stability to people, we must eradicate corruption”, stated Mr. Iurie Leancă.

The designated Prime Minister also emphasized the fact that a priority objective, which will lead to the improvement of the economic situation in the country, is the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. Mr. Iurie Leancă stated that the signing of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union will stimulate the economy of the country, will provide a larger market outlet for native products, will offer new workplaces and decent salaries for citizens.

The designated Prime Minister outlined the importance of periodical meetings with the administration of NTUCM, stating that the most acute problems of employees can be settled only by means of a continuous communication.

The President of NTUCM, Oleg Budza, highly appreciated the interest of the designated Prime Minister as regards to employees’ issues and expressed his belief that constructive results can be obtained only by means of a constant cooperation.

Trade Unions’ members submitted several requests to the designated Prime Minister, and namely: the increase of the minimal salary per country, stage by stage, till the minimum existence level, re-examination of the minimum guaranteed quantum of wage in the real sector, institution of a price regulation mechanism, development and approval of a complex program regarding the provision of public services, qualitative and available for population.

The designated Prime Minister agreed with NTUCM members to hold a meeting in a month with the competent ministries and inter-sectoral trade unions, for identifying viable solutions for executing the proposed objectives.
