More than 15000 people celebrated May Day within the framework of a meeting in order to demand the right to work and decent life

More than 15000 people celebrated May Day within the framework of a meeting in order to demand the right to work and decent life. The event was organized by the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM).

Participants assessed workers’ social and economic situation in the country and called upon all employees and social partners to join efforts in order to build a better life in the country.

CNSM Chairman Oleg Budza stated that May Day is not a holiday, but the opportunity for workers to remind the authorities, through different actions, of different problems they face, to plead for respect of fundamental labour rights, to request decent wages and labour conditions.

Trade unionists requested the authorities to urge passage of more laws that will improve living conditions in the Republic of Moldova and also to ensure working conditions for youth.

Participants in the meeting approved a special resolution covering a wide range of actions aiming at improving citizens’ life.
