The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (NCTUM) together with the social partners celebrated Tuesday, the 7th of October, 2014, within a round table titled “Rights for employees – proper solutions for climatic changes”, the World Day for Decent Work.
President of NCTUM Oleg Budza stated that the trade unions together with the social partners try to diminish the informal work in order to offer the employees a decent job places.
”Our motivation is to join our efforts for developing a social directed, productive and competitive economy, which would provide a future for us and the whole planet, as well as, to contribute to the creation of stable places of job, with a decent remuneration, safe and healthy labour conditions, so that the working persons should be properly appreciated in Republic of Moldova”, the trade leader specified.
In his turn, the Deputy-President of NCTUM Petru Chiriac launched an appeal to all competent structures, mentioning that the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova joins the declarations of world trade union structures, concerning the fight against the climatic changes and their negative impact on job places.
”In order to have an inhabited planet, as well as, with the purpose to contribute to the creation of job places, which would ensure a climatic stability, we make an appeal to all country’s citizens, to the Parliament’s deputies, to the Government, patronages and trade unions to unite the efforts for promoting the principles of decent work in Republic of Moldova”, Chiriac said.
President of the National Confederation of Patronages of Moldova Leonid Cerescu declared that such meetings and communications lead to a constructive cooperation with the social partners.
”I want to thank the trade unions because we find common positions in the settlement of different issues. But, unfortunately, after 2 years of work and negotiations, concerning the modification of the Labour Code, the Government stopped this process. It is necessary to motivate the respective amendment and to ensure a decent work for employees”, Cerescu stated.
Present at the event, the Deputy-Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Family Sergiu Sainciuc specified that Moldova needs a better social protection system.
”We made certain steps, together with the social partners, but, besides qualified jobs we need qualified persons as well”, Sainciuc concluded.
We specify that the World Day for Decent Work is celebrated annually, on October 7, in the whole world by the trade union movement, being instituted upon the initiative of the International Trade Union Confederation. According to the official sources, the World Day for Decent Work is the mobilization period of the public-social forces, when world trade unions require the decent and equitable work remuneration, qualitative places of job, efficient social protection, observation of the employees’ rights and liberties. The manifestations within the World Day for Decent Work are organized simultaneously in over 130 countries, in which participate hundreds of thousands of people.
