National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova worries about the evolution of the political situation our country struggles with.
Republic of Moldova is going through a complicated political, economic and social period. Now, perhaps more than ever, we must treat all actions with rationality and responsibility.
Being an important element of the civil society, National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova pleaded and pleads for dialogue. Only through communication, peacefully, can be solved the most pressing challenges and problems of the society, fact recorded by the experience of advanced democracies.
In this difficult situation, National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova is worried about the protection of the rights and social-economic, professional and labour interests of union members, defending their rights and freedoms, preventing the worsening of living standards and strengthening of social dialogue. It requests the convening, in the following days, of the Executive Board and the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining to start discussions on the socio-economic situation of the country.
All this actions can be realized just only under proper functioning of state institutions, especially Government as a partner in social dialogue.
In the context of this situation, National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, which according to law is an apolitical and independent from public authorities and political organizations, expresses concern regarding recent events and calls the citizens to remain calm and respect public order.
National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova calls upon the authorities, political forces and civil society to proceed immediately to a constructive dialogue to ease tensions in the society and the return of all state institutions to normal functionality.
