Development of professional training and validation of informal skills for employees from agriculture and food industry is an objective closer to be achieved. Recently it was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Sectoral Committee for Vocational Training in Agriculture and Food Industry and the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family.

Signing of the memorandum creates a platform for tripartite dialogue on agriculture and food industry. This will facilitate the consultation of proposals of social partners in the branch in various areas such as employment, combating undeclared work and the “envelope wages”, particularly in agriculture.

According to Leonard Palli, president of the Sectoral Committee of Agriculture and Food Industry, the training of skilled labor force is the major objective of sectoral committees’ activity.

“By signing this document we will help to ensure the right of employees to receive continuing training, improving the quality of technical vocational education, development of social partnership in vocational training, and updating the Classification of occupations and Nomenclature of professions. However, this step will encourage the development and formation of organizational culture, by strengthening the existing five sectoral committees and fostering the creation of new committees”, said Palli.

The creation of sectoral committees and development of occupational standards are included in the Development Strategy of vocational / technical education for the years 2013-2020. The strategy provides till 2020 the development of sectoral committees in 12 areas of specialization and the set of occupational standards for vocational / technical professions.
