Trade union leaders, trainers and responsible for public relations and mass media of the national trade union centers have been trained by an international expert in terms of communication.

Cooperation of the trade unions with mass media”, was held by Maxim Kim, Head of the Chair of Journalism of the Faculty of Social Technologies of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He was in Chisinau, for the second time, at the invitation of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) in June 25-26 of the current year.

During two days of lectures, seminar participants learned about the role and place of communication in the work of the trade union leader and on the influence of psychological processes on the communication process; they have mastered types of public speeches and their preparation techniques.

According to Maxim Kim, oratorical art is an indispensable part of any activity of the union leader because he represents the civil society and its basic work is communication with people.

„ The trade union leader must not just have a nice speaking but to convey his ideas through a coherent and comprehensible message, in order to make communication more efficient. The workers, trade union members must understand which are their rights and opportunities for improving their living conditions. The longer the leader communicates with people, the more effective his work becomes”, thinks the expert.

Equally important is the role of communication in negotiations. „From a trade union leader is required to establish concrete goals, to have good information to know whom he transmits this information and what he want to obtain, to examine thoroughly his interlocutor”, he said.

Kim appreciated the special attention, which the management of the Confederation gives to the training of staff and wanted to encourage the NTUCM information policy of implementing new mass media products.
