NTUCM will organize a series of training activities in the field of occupational safety and health

Starting with August 25, National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) will organize 15 seminars in the territory in occupational safety and health (OSH) in order to contribute to a better information and training of employees in the field of OSH. The first seminar will be organized at Falesti.

There was discussed about this in a round table held on Thursday, August 13, at which were present the leadership of NTUCM, presidents and representatives of national branch trade union centers and the representatives of the OSH Expert Team of NTUCM, who discussed and approved the program of the activities.

“It is necessary to draw particular attention to the aspects that refer to OSH and these seminars will increase the level of information of the employees. However, still we insist on the creation of Committees for OSH at enterprises in order to improve the working conditions”, underlined Mihail Hincu, vice president of NTUCM.

The participants also discussed the need to implement best practices in the field of OSH based on Romania’s experience on professional risk assessment, on which the trade unionists have been informed earlier in a workshop.

The round table was organized by the NTUCM and the International Labor Organization (ILO), with the financial support of the Norwegian Government, within the project entitled ”Training of trade unionists on the implementation of ILO Conventions in the field of OSH”. The cycle of seminars will end in mid-October 2015.
