The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (NCTUM) launched Tuesday, June 3, 2014, for the first time in Republic of Moldova – the book „History of Trade Unions”, which contains large information about the activity of trade union movement of the country, since the medieval period till present.
The book was launched with the participation of NCTUM’s board, presidents of the country’s branch trade unions, the trade union leaders, who activated previously in the administrative bodies of the country’s trade unions, as well as, other guests.
Published in a number of 500 copies by ”Pontos” publishing house, the book „History of Trade Unions” presents information about the evolution of the trade union movement and familiarizes the large audience with the major events and the personalities who contributed to the development and strengthening of the country’s trade unions.
One of the book’s authors, president of NCTUM Oleg Budza mentioned that the idea to realize such a book appeared one year ago, when the fundamentals of which were made.
„The trade unions’ history includes the events made by us. The work has a practical, scientific and theoretical significance, because it illustrates in detail a series of events which marked the trade union movement in the context of historic, social, economic, political metamorphosis registered on our country’s territory during many centuries”, the trade union leader specified.
The author of the book, Anton Moraru, Doctor Habilitatus in historic sciences, university professor, said the history of Moldova’s trade unions presents a practical interest for the radical transformations, which started in the trade union movement of the country during the transition period to the market economy, democratization of the modern society and the European integration of the area between Prut and Dniester rivers.
Each of the participants in the launch received a book from the president of the NCTUM and thanked for the idea and realization of the respective work.
The book ”History of Trade Unions” is in limited issue and not for sale.
