The trade unionists from the North region of the country have been trained in the field of occupational safety and health

National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) has organized on Tuesday, August 18, in Balti, a round table focused on training trade unionists and social partners from the region in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH).

Within the activity, those present discussed a number of subjects related to improving working conditions of the employees in accordance with national and international provisions in the field of OSH.

The participants emphasized the need to assess the risk factors and the attestation of workplaces, the grant of an increasing compensation for the work in harmful conditions and medical examination at employment.

Elena Carchilan, Head of OSH Expert Team of NTUCM, underlined that the organization of such activities are useful and she insisted on specifying that at present it is recorded a fruitful development of the social dialogue in the region because there is effective cooperation with the social partners, State Labour Inspectorate and Public Health Centre from Balti.

The round table was organized by the NTUCM and the International Labor Organization (ILO), with the financial support of the Norwegian Government, within the project entitled “Training of trade unionists on the implementation of ILO Conventions in the field of OSH” and is part of a series of activities focused on OSH, which will end in the first half of October 2015.
