The young trade unionists gathered at the IV th edition of the Forum of the Youth Council of the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (NCTUM)

Approximately 140 young trade unionists and guests from abroad, met at the IV th edition of the Forum of the Youth Council of the National Confederation of Trade Unions from Moldova (NCTUM), held during the period 8-10 May in the locality Vadul-lui-Voda.

In the current edition of the Forum were discussed problems with which are facing the young people in the country and was analyzed trade union activity and experience in Kazakhstan and Latvia. However, one of the main objectives of the meeting was to strengthen the trade unions youth activities, to boost the cooperation with the social partners, and the discovery and exploitation of professional and artistic qualities of trade union members.

During the three days of the Forum, young people attended a series of workshops, thematic seminars and a series of artistic and interactive activities such as: Team presentation under the topic ”Different but united by trade unions!”; the competition ”Trade union photo-message”; competition of the captains. At the same time, the teams organized a Flash-mob with thetopic ”The right to decent working and living conditions”, but also participated in the competition „Dancing team!”

Stela Stratila-Sirbu, President of the Youth Council of the NCTUM, said that the Forum is a unique activity during the year when so many young trade unionists can review, discuss the problems of the branches where they are working, but also to propose some ways of solving these problems.

”This forum aims to form teams, to make to persist the spirit of trade union solidarity, which unfortunately became a bit absent in consolidation. It is very important that each of the young people – union member to be trained in the trade union legislation in order to accomplish the main tasks that we have, namely – defense, promoting human rights and interests of employees”, underlined Stela Stratila-Sirbu.

The Vice President of the NCTUM, Mihail Hincu, highlighted the need to organize such a Forum, which gives to the young unionists the opportunity to communicate, to be informed about unionism and to discover the artistic spirit of each union member.

”We will continue to promote young people in the trade unions at all levels. NCTUMwill make every effort to negotiate with the social partners about better working conditions, increased salaries, in order to make the young people to not leave the country. We will look forward to the Vth edition of the Youth Forum of the NCTUM to come up with positive changes for young people from the country”, concluded Hincu.

Following the votes, the favorite team of the IV th edition of the Youth Forum of NCTUM was appointed the Federation of Workers‘ Unions in the BankingandInsurance Institutions of the Republic of Moldova. The first place in the competition”Trade union photo-message” was awarded to the team from the Trade Union ”Sanatatea”. As the best captain was elected Radu Minzat, within the Federative Syndicate ”SINDENERGO” of theWorkers from the Energy sector of the Republic of Moldova. The first place for the organization of the Flash-mob was designated to the team of the Federation of Trade Unions of Public Service Employees of the Republic of Moldova. The best in the competition „Dancing team!” was named the team Trade Union of Workers in Culture. The winners were awarded with diplomas and cups.
