Trade Unions of Moldova aim to strengthen their relationship with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation

Leaders of National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (NTUCM) had a meeting on Wednesday, 20th of January, with Matthias Jobelius, Resident Representative of German Foundation Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Romania and Republic of Moldova and Ana Mihailov, coordinator FES Moldova, during which were discussed perspectives of collaboration between these two organizations in 2016.

Oleg Budza, president of NTUCM, highly appreciated the efficient collaboration between NTUCM and FES during many years and mentioned that due to the contribution and support provided by FES there were implemented many important projects for the development of trade union movement, such as: “Trade Union School of Moldova”, “Trade Union School of Projects” and carrying out of the study “Specialized courts in labour disputes in the Republic of Moldova – necessity and opportunity”.

The leader of NTUCM communicated about the necessity to continue the collaboration through the implementation of joint projects.

Also, Oleg Budza mentioned that NTUCM will focus on establishment of specialized courts that will contribute to the improvement of the quality of settling labour disputes, asking for FES support in this sense.

In his turn, Matthias Jobelius highlighted the importance of the further development of bilateral relationships, because European integration also means paying special attention to social aspects of labour relations and trade unions have an important role in this process. “In the difficult social-economic conditions of the Republic of Moldova, the society needs strong trade unions as a source of stability and confidence for employees” noted the representative of FES.
